A repository for ongoing research into a cultural history of higher space.
I am a fifth-year PhD student at Birkbeck College supervised by Steve Connor. I work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant on the BA in Arts and Humanities, teaching courses on Methods in Cultural Studies and The Production of the Human. In 2008 I was an editorial intern on the online journal 19, produced under the aegis of the Centre for 19th Century Studies at Birkbeck.
In a previous life as a freelance journalist and editor I contributed frequently to Bizarre magazine, The Fortean Times and assorted lifestyle and contract magazines, and altogether less frequently to The Telegraph, The Guardian and Channel 4. I helped to edit some books and contracted as an online sub for The Telegraph and the Financial Times. I was once a human cannonball.
